The building blocks of my project are coming together slowly but surely. I’m definitely still keeping the musical element of my initial plan but I think I’m going to try and implement some spoken word elements into it as well. I’m still torn on whether or not I want it to be poetry or an actual story, and the contents of this piece are still up in the air. However, the structure of everything is starting to come together and that’s giving me hope.
As for what my subject matter is going to be, I am still not completely sure where to start. I am considering looking into my Filipino heritage and maybe gaining some inspiration from there, but everything is still in a rough draft phrase. Marco Herman said something along the lines of “radio is the theatre of the mind” and I want my piece to reflect that in some way. Honestly, I think I also need to reflect on what that means myself.
As for the musical element, my guitar is tried and true and I will turn to it once more. I probably won’t go too in depth with the singing but I plan to incorporate some vocals. As for the instrumental, I’m taking some inspiration from various sources of media such as movies and video games. One of my biggest inspirations is the soundtrack of a video game name Cyberpunk: 2077. I’ve listed the track below.
