I’m meeting with my final project partner some time this week. His name is Cuong. I’m not completely sure what we’re going to discuss, but I’m glad he took the initiative in contacting me first. I wonder how his side of the project is going. My side is going alright so far. I’ve been able to record a melody on my guitar that I think would serve as a good background track. I plan to add some vocal layers sometime this week. However, the actual lyrics and dialogue within my project is still up in the air. I’m thinking of referencing ancient mythologies and legends like in DICTEE, but I’m still not sure where to choose from. I am also contemplating which types of literary forms to use in my piece and how to implement them.
I’ve been a little distracted due to outside events lately. I had some friends that participated in the encampment and I’m worried about their safety, especially with the increased police presence on campus. I’ve also been trying to find a Mother’s Day present for my mom. All of this has unfortunately made it a little more challenging to keep myself focused on the final project, but who knows. Maybe within the chaos of these events I will find inspiration.
Twerk has been a surprisingly elusive book to find. It’s not at any of the bookstores near me and shipping will take a week at minimum. I’ve managed to find some snippets of poems online, however. I don’t really understand any of them.
