Radio Chthulucene 87.9 FM

This week has been about bringing the project to fruition and trying to secure the location, and making decisions about revising my final piece. My partner and I met in person, and she told me about what they are doing in the VIS class which was eye opening to the other side of this collaboration. She also brought up a back up location to the Keeling gardens which was our first choice, but I have not heard back from the director of Residential Affairs at Revelle, so I think were gonna go with the lookout spot next to La Jolla playhouse :). I also need to text my Tio and ask him to voice the Spanish part of my story, I feel a bit nervous but I also know he’d love to do it. I plan to text him today or tomorrow so he has enough time to do it, and I will also start looking into audio recording softwares, my partner brought up an adobe software that seems like a good choice! I’m thinking about whether I want to add static or not, and Im pretty sure about the nature ambient sounds. I really enjoyed twerk! Im happy we read border universe, it was a beautiful text. I wished we talked about how Diggs uses dialects, there was one text where she mimics a Jamaican accent and makes it audible through the text, and it was cool to read. I was really inspired by the texts for this workshop, and I am grateful to be alongside such brilliant writers.
