Well, this is just about it. The final stretch. The project has now been extended until May 28, 4 days later than it was originally due. So, now I have four more days to work on this project. Four more days may not be necessary, but it is very nice to have these additional days since I am still worried over my final project.
I went over all of the remaining feedback I got from my peers in this class this weekend and rewrote my piece. Some of the pieces of feedback I got I put in, such as dead channels and music channels (more might be added when I revise later today). I also worked to end more of the channels on incomplete thoughts, since that was another common suggestion I received. However, between this and cutting down on the number of channels (well, informational ones; it was from feedback I received and just for ease of convenience), I ended up reducing my word count instead of increasing it. This also resulted in the removal of most religious references and a reference to the border, which I have mixed feelings about. On one hand, I did not fully intend a political message (or a well thought out one). But on the other hand, I enjoyed these portions. So, I have some hard decisions to make about the content and point of this piece.
I have now received some more feedback from the professor, which I intend to incorporate into another draft today. These pieces of feedback are why are the broadcasts repetitive, what is happening (context), how do I plan to read this aloud, and why did I choose the title I did. So, more hard questions I need to answer. Ones that I need to spend time thinking about before I revise. I do not fully have answers to these questions, which is why I am glad the deadline was pushed back, since now I have more time to think and plan before I record this piece. I need this time to make this the best piece possible.
Lastly, I am now thinking of moving the location back to Eighth. This piece never connected to any building in particular and, at least with Eighth, I do not have to worry about getting permission from officials. I live there and do not share a room. As such, it would be very simple to just broadcast from my room.
