Radio Chthulucene 87.9 FM

Hi WordPress! It has been a while, I got sick last week and missed the presentation by cog*Nate collective, which bummed me out because I bet I would have liked it. I looked over the publication that is uploaded on the class canvas, and I really really enjoyed the “30 seconds over little Tokyo” page. It reminded me of the photo description texts that we read over in experimental writing, they both have a tone of conveying doom through words and the narrators are apathetic to the future of misery, in this case the future of the environment. I also thought the language was cool, and how sky city is described as this utopia-like city that is still being hunted down. I enjoyed that there was a link between history and the imaginary and the documented experiences of Little Tokyo residence, it made me see this town in a different way and inspired me to create something like this in the future. In terms of my own project, I was able to speak with my Tio and explain the project to him, but I felt super anxious about the content about it. So I didn’t call him about actually recording for a week, also because I was sick and he only has two days off! But we got around to it, and I bought the SD card and borrowed an adapter from my girlfriend, and I’m really really proud of the direction I took the piece in for revision, it feels like my soul barred out and a call and response that can’t *happen* but that is made possible through this project, and I hope those who hear it are empathetic to how queer people whose elders passed away have a specific experience when it comes to feeling loved and guided from above.
