In this project, I aimed to merge classical music and modern technology to create a multisensory experience that resonates with both the ears and the eyes. By programming an Arduino to play Beethoven’s “Fur Elise,” accompanied by synchronized LED lights, I sought to transform this timeless piece into a contemporary art installation that bridges the gap between the auditory and the visual.
The choice of “Fur Elise” was deliberate. With its delicate yet haunting melody, this iconic composition is a perfect canvas for exploring the interplay between sound and light. Each note produces a sound and illuminates a corresponding LED, visually representing the music’s rhythm and emotion. The LEDs, strategically placed and programmed to respond to specific notes, enhance the listener’s experience by providing a tangible, visual connection to the music.
This project is a heartfelt homage to the profound influence of music and technology in evoking emotions and crafting immersive experiences. It underscores the potential of traditional art forms to be reimagined and encountered in fresh, innovative ways. As an artist, I aspired to fashion an installation that not only captivates and engrosses the audience but also beckons them to perceive ‘Fur Elise’ as a musical composition but as a dynamic, living artwork that stirs multiple senses.
Through this transformative fusion of light and sound, I aspire to ignite others’ curiosity and encourage them to delve into the boundless possibilities that emerge when we meld classical art with modern technology. This project will serve as a beacon, illuminating the timeless beauty of ‘Fur Elise’ in a fresh, captivating light.
It is located at the Craft Center at Sixth College.

Experimental Poetic and Hertzian waves on bespoke transmission technologies for local frequency modulation. The peripatetic and the unlicensed. Zombie tones are not made alone, it takes a village to raise a golem. And their kins. A talking house full of haunted pasts, no longer self sufficient but instead of co-making. These are the sounds of the Chthulucene.
For the first time, Monday June 3rd through Friday the 7th, 2024.
