The Noise Maker: A Nostalgic Journey Through Spy Gameboy Tunes

My name is Rotem Gotlieb, and for my final project in VIS 147A, I created “The Noise Maker,” a unique radio station that plays music from a beloved spy Gameboy game. Inspired by the thrilling espionage adventures and catchy chiptune melodies of the Gameboy era, I aimed to recreate the immersive audio experience of these classic games.

Using an Arduino microcontroller and a custom sound module, I meticulously recreated the iconic music from the spy game, transforming the nostalgic tunes into a seamless radio broadcast. Each note and rhythm was carefully programmed to capture the essence of the original soundtrack, evoking memories of stealthy missions and pixelated intrigue.

Sharing “The Noise Maker” with classmates, friends, and fellow retro gaming friends brought immense joy, as the familiar melodies sparked fond memories and lively conversations. This project is a heartfelt tribute to the enduring charm of Gameboy music and its ability to transport listeners back to the golden age of handheld gaming.
